Session outline
Explore how maths is used in daily life. Children investigate a painting called ‘The Measurers’ which shows people in the past measuring length, weight, time and more. The class then go on to do a practical measuring carousel challenge and then make their own balance scales, with plenty of opportunity to practice mathematical language and to develop their own measuring skills.
Length: 90 minutes
