Group size and supervision FAQs
Before you start ...

Take a look at these guidelines and FAQs about supervision, group size, and booking:

Yes — you will need to make group bookings in advance
We need at least 5 working days’ notice to make all the arrangements for group bookings and tours.
8 people or more, visiting as part of a:
  • school
  • university
  • community group or other organisation
If your group has more than 15 people, you'll need to split into 2 smaller groups, each with a group leader.
You’ll need to:
  • make more than one booking
  • split into groups of 15 or fewer during your visit
Yes. Your leader will need to supervise their groups at all time during your visit.
Yes – although each group of 15 must contain at least one adult.
That means if you need to split into two groups of 15 or fewer, you’ll need one adult for each group.
For everyone’s safety, we can’t allow groups of students under 18 in the museum without supervision.
That means we’d have to turn away student or other groups which don’t include an adult supervisor.
For everyone’s safety, we need to prepare for group bookings, so unfortunately we can’t let your group in without confirmation of booking and payment.
Please bring your confirmation email with you so we can identify your booking quickly and welcome you to the museum.
