Young Producers

The Museum’s Young Producers programme offers young people between the ages of 18-30 who have an interest in history, science, museums or heritage interpretation a unique opportunity to go behind the scenes at the Museum and be involved in the co-curation of exhibits and events.

Young Producers can expect to
•    develop new skills and understanding of how museums work
•    gain valuable insights into curatorial practice
•    gain experience of public engagement
•    learn about of a variety of roles in the Museum
•    working on real projects alongside museum staff
•    meet and enjoy the company of other like-minded young people

The Museum is also keen to hear your ideas to ensure that young people are well represented in its programming.
The team are currently involved in a project to redisplay the Museum’s remarkable collection of early scientific instruments from the Islamic world and have already made a significant impact on the current permanent display as well as contributing to public events.

The group meets once or twice a month, usually on a Thursday evening and a Saturday morning with an expectation that Young Producers will attend the majority of sessions.
