Marconi Day 2022 Young girl with father adjusting headphones for Morse code activity (with 2023 branding)

Saturday 25 April 2026  |  12-4pm

To celebrate Marconi Day, we're running an amateur radio station from the Museum.

Using modern equipment, we're hoping to make contact with other amateur radio enthusiasts around the world.

You'll be part of a global community celebrating International Marconi Day, operating from locations where radio pioneer Guglielmo Marconi developed the technology in the early 1900s.

Try sending and receiving Morse Code messages yourself at our telegraphy station in the Top Gallery.

And join Marconi expert Ken Taylor from Oxford District Radio Society (ODARS) with a tour of the Marconi display Making Waves in our Basement gallery.

Suitable for adults and children 8+

Drop-in, no need to book.
